Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a Martial Art Form that promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker opponent can defeat a bigger strong opponent through the use of technique, leverage, and joint manipulation.

It's Great for Self Defense and an Awesome Full-Body Workout!

"I've been a Wrestler my whole life and naturally found Jiu Jitsu. I've had many coaches in my life. The best ones were the ones who paid attention to detail. Coach Chaz is extremely skilled at focusing on small details (that most people overlook) while he's teaching. It makes learning more fun because you're constantly analyzing and looking at things from different angles."

"I have been suffering from anxiety since I was 9 years old. I've always dreamed of being involved in Martial Arts since I was little. I came across Octane MMA, and instantly I was hooked. It seemed to be like I was born to do Jiu Jitsu, it's my passion. I've never felt more welcome. The coaches are amazing. I've only been training for about 3-4 months now. My anxiety has been down at a minimum. It's like Jiu Jitsu brought the better out in me. It helped relieve stress, and I always walk out smiling."

Anybody can learn and become proficient in Jiu Jitsu regardless of age, size, or current Fitness Level. It provides an amazing Full-Body Workout, teaches valuable Self Defense, teaches you Lessons about Yourself, Relieves Stress, and much more!

Will This Be Your First Experience with Jiu Jitsu?

Prepare for one of the best experiences of your life. Our classes blend Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Techniques perfect for any level of Jiu Jitsu Practicioner. You're going to learn Offense and Defense from all the Core Positions such as Full Guard, Half Guard, Mount, Back Control, and Side Control. If you're unsure what those positions are, don't worry, you'll learn them and quickly fall in love with this Sport.

Nervous About Trying Jiu Jitsu for the First Time?

Good. That's a human's natural reaction to trying anything for the first time. You're completely normal. Our culture is our biggest asset at Octane MMA. Our instructors are friendly, personable, professional, and full of knowledge. Our Students are very good at helping new students understand techniques and going above and beyond to make them feel comfortable. Our goal is to give you a great overall experience, a fun and challenging class, and show you why Jiu Jitsu is the best Martial Art Form in the World.

"It's as real as it can get. That has made me a better person. It's made me a better man. It's made me understand myself, my weaknesses, my strengths, the stuff I need to work on. Jiu Jitsu has been on of the most valuable tools I've ever had in my life." –Joe Rogan, UFC Ringside Announcer/Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt

Do Students Have To Compete in Tournaments?

Nope. As a team, we compete in a handful of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Tournaments per year. By no means are you required to compete. We encourage it, and it will certainly help your Jiu Jitsu. But, we realize that everyone has different goals. Competing is your call.

Sparring, or Live Rolling, is optional as well. Again, highly encouraged in practice settings, but not required... Rolling helps you understand areas of your game that need improvement, and allows our coaching staff to help you grow as a Jiu Jitsu Player.

What Is The Difference Between GI & NOGI?

We offer both GI and NOGI Jiu Jitsu. GI is the traditional form of Jiu Jitsu, and students wear a GI or Uniform. NOGI is the style more fit for MMA. Students wear normal workout clothes. In GI, students are permitted to grab the uniform as part of techniques and use it to submit and control their opponent. This can be handy in self defense situations when people are wearing a jacket or hooded sweatshirts. In NOGI, grabbing your opponents clothing is not permitted.

"I like training at Octane because of the diverse MMA Knowledge. The instructors care for their students as much as they do about the methods and style they instruct. So, they're able to adjust how they teach based off the learning curve of the student, and how fast or slow they're developing."
